I don't know what's in Portsmouth, but I took a ride up to Stockbridge
today, and boy, do they have vehicles! I talked to a couple of employees in
the main building and apparently I missed a tour this morning. They told me
all the vehicles there were to be sold "as one lot" which totally is 750,000
pounds. There is a tank and a couple APC's which are not going. Although I
couldn't get close enough to ID most of the models, some of the stuff I saw
was several buses, large trailers, deuce and a halfs, fuel trucks, a large
auger truck, and they claim 10-12 M38's. The kicker is they have to be
moved in 20 days after confirmation of winning bid! No work on them can be
done there. Just loading and removing. Most of the good stuff has gone to
museums, such as a self-propelled gun, tanks, and anti-aircraft guns. They
told me the man to contact for a tour is Danny Groah at 315-330-4973. There
have been several tours already, but nothing about them in our local press.
Just you guys on the net. Even the guys I talked to weren't aware of tours
except on the net! Hope this is of some help.

John
