was just reviewing this info last night...I am planning on converting on of
my M45 chassis to a M44, which requires stud reversal....

Anyhow..this info can be found in TM9-819 (January 52 edition), section 185,
page 220. BTW, in my opinion TM9-819 is STILL the best all around book to
have on M35 general maintenance. Memphis Equipment sells a good repro of a
LITTLE later edition that is just as good....

I'll sumarize....remove tire & wheel assy....
pull axle...
straighten tabs on adjusting nut lock....
remove adjusting nut lock and inner nut....
remove outer bearing oil seal and oil seal wiper ring....
remove outer whell bearing assy....
remove hub and drum assy....
remove 10 nuts and lock washers attaching brake drum to hub assy....
pry brake drum loose and pull off....
press out studs....

I am sure it is not as easy as it sounds...

Also the same basic info, with less detail, is in TM 9-2320-209-35 (June
1965), Chaper 8, section 9, paragraph 114, page 80.

Hope this helps,
David Doyle
