Hi John, Would you be so good as to tell the list what state you just
got your CDL in?

Since the post concerning no need for a CDL if you had antique tags
came from California, could it be that the info was correct for that
state and not yours?

And was your buddies truck an antique with antique tags?


Folks, it seems one distinction to answer is if the truck in question
is tagged as an antique or not. If you have a 1970's 5 tonner, even in
OD Green, the cops may consider you commercial. If you have a WWII
vintage something-or-other that is tagged antique, it may be a
different kettle of fish.

In PA, an antique heavy truck does not need a CDL to drive it.
