There are pump timing marks on the crank pulley for all the different engine
types. When installing a pump be sure to use the proper mark relative to the
type of engine regardless of the type of pump you are using. Mabie I should
have been more clear that my point was that my pump shop told me that there
are no internal differences between the pumps. The difference comes on the
external settings. If you want more power you can achieve the same effect by
turning up the fuel w/o going through the trouble of changing pumps and do it
in a more controlled manor. Be aware the LDS and LDS-2 engines have oil
squirters to cool the piston skirts from heat generated from the added power.
So do be cautious.
