My first brake job took 3 of us 4 evenings to get all wheels off. If you
have the original lug wrench (6-point), it has 2 cross-holes and a 3/4"
square socket on the end. You might find one at a truck supply or truck
wreckers. We used an old farm bar (~6 ft) at one cross-hole, a series of
1/2"-drive extensions hooked together thru the other, and an impact wrench
on the end (3/4" square drive). Also plenty of penetrant oil (although we
used the more vernacular terms) over the 4 eves. One guy ran the impact
wrench mercilessly, while another pulled up on the farm bar and the third
jumped and pushed on the extensions (make sure they're lifetime guarantee
types).
The left-hand studs should be marked with a raised "L", or just carefully
inspect the protruding threads.
What we found was the "seats" for the beveled nuts were galled and scored.
That accounted for some of the trouble. I basically had to find replacement
rims to eliminate that.
Sounds like many of us feel your pain. Take heart, the fun is just
beginning! :-o
