[MV] Blasted Carter YS carb on M38A1

Ok, the house smells of carb cleaner, I've got grease on a new pair of
jeans, and the blasted carb still isn't running right. I took the carb
off of the the '52 b/c it was leaking gasoline and didn't want the
inevitable toasting of an old green thing. I used 2 cans of carb
cleaner and a rebuild kit from Walck's, carefully took the subject
apart. Cleaned approx 2 tablespoons (30 ml for the metric friends) of
gunk out of the float bowl and cleared all the passages. Installed all
of the new parts and gaskets. Now, the engine will run at idle but
sputters and stalls when the accelerator is applied. What did I
do????? I believe I put the linkage back the way it was. (polaroid is a
little fuzzy) From what I've read about this carb, I'm tempted to
stick a new Solex on. I must admit that I am more concerned with
reliability right now.

Any advice and help would be appreciated.
