The original WWII military fuel filter (as seen on jeeps, WC, trucks, etc.)
is an excellent water/fuel separator. What
it doesn't do very well, however, is filter particles from the fuel. I have
installed an inline paper fuel filter on all
my vehicles. This way the original filter takes care of water, and the paper
filter removes the dirt.
