Generally there are "slow" glow plugs and "fast" glow plugs used in the GM
diesel. If the glowplug light on your dash stays on for more than 30
seconds, you should have the slow ones. If it generally stays on about 10
seconds, then you should have the fast ones. Have the controller checked and
match the glow plugs to it. Fast glowplugs with the slow controller will
work for awhile, but the plugs overheat and die quickly. My experience is
with civvy GM diesels, but should apply in this case.
