Well, you are actually incorrect in your ring number. The ring mount the
fella was asking about is actually an M66. This ring has a ring within a
ring and has a backrest and sometimes a rear head and shoulders guard. The
M49 and the M49A1 had a trolly that ran on the ring. There were quite a few
variations of rings and post assemblies. If the ring was actually mounted in
the bed of the truck, it was probably an adaptation of the M66 ring assembly
that was used on an M548. the correct mount for a Duece is directly over the
passenger seat area, still utilizing 3 legs, two behind the cab and the other
on the cowl post in front of the right door. More information about mounts
