? Early GPW on Willys frame.

I have a question regarding the early GPWs that used the Willys frame.
How would the serial number appear on the frame. Would the serial number
started off with the MB designation even though it was a GPW? Was the
Willys MB tag still on the frames that were supplied? The serial number
on the title for my script GPW starts off with MB-...... I am sure this
has all been addressed before so sorry if this is a repeat questions.
