Tim,

Be aware of this, the VW car based plastic Kübels are a very long way indeed
from the real thing, replica in this context is extremely loose and almost
outside the Trades Description Act.

The first glaring error is that real Kübels have a 4" jack-up at the rear
achieved by a double pinion set at the wheel hub and the diff crown-wheel driven
on the other side to reverse the drive shaft rotation. The bodies are also
usually 18" short using the car as a basis.

Secondly there will be some resistance to any form of MV show display, we have
just been through this at my local branch and it is unpleasant. A "replica"
Kübel is not and cannot be by definition a "Military Vehicle", in fact being
pedantic it is wholly outside the scope of this list too therefore. It is a kit
car.

The plastic Kübel and a fake R75 being actually a Dnepr from the same person
were actually at the last Beltring Show and displayed as genuine W.W.II vehicles
which is unforgivable, these have been banned from our _MV_ shows.

I wonder what outcry would ensue from across the pond if you turned up at a US
show with a UK Jago Jeep replica plastic kit-car AND called it a "W.W.II Willys
Jeep" . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

If you are really looking for the real thing I can give you a contact off list
but do remember these things are very rare and command relatively huge prices,
the Kübel usefully uses old VW parts handy for maintenance and is the cheapest
of the genuine W.W.II German vehicles but you should be thinking of 10K +
(pounds sterling) for a good one, and there is one for sale in the current W&T
fairly described as a "Kübel-salad" being a 43 body on a 44 chassis but with its
provenance and described as "show condition", very cheap at 5K UKP.
