According to my M-880 Manual the following trucks were 12 Volt in the M-880
series of trucks. M-880 4x4 PU, M-886 ambulance, M-888 telephone maintenance
truck, M-890 2X4 PU and the M-893,2x4 ambulance. The following M-880 series
of trucks were 24 volt, 4x4 M-881,882,883,884,885, and 2x4 M-891 and 892.
I know for sure that the M886 is standard dodge wiring as IM restoring one
and it is 12 volt, and I know that the alternator is a standard 12v. This
info is direct from my TM 9-2320-226-20. Hope this helps. Mark
