The modern U.S, Chemical Detectors contain an ionizing radiation source and
while very weak is a licensed/controlled item. The three most common
detectors are the Chemical Agent Monitor (CAM) a hand held point detector,
the M43A1 which is a rectangular box shaped item about 7"x7" x16" and is
mounted usually on the outside of vehicles. Another one being fielded now to
replace the M43A1 is the M22 Automatic Chemical Agent Detector Alarm (ACADA)
roughly the same size . Unlikely to find an empty/training one, but could
be mocked up.
