I have an M38 engine in my GPW - works great - it has a Ford head, which
makes it less obvious to the casual glance.... had ZERO problems with it
since I got the Jeep 5 years ago - before that the Jeep was in a barn and
before that it was being used by the Greek army - such it's a real mixture
of bits... Ford, Willys, Hotchkiss and General Motors - the engine's never
been rebuilt since it was in service with the Greeks... and it's quite
content to do 60 mph and more when necessary - all I've ever needed to do is
change the plugs. It's also a lot quieter than the wartime engine.

What a pity you've got the reverse... an MC engine would have been much
nicer in my opinion.

Tim
