I personally knew a local tire man who aired up
truck tires in a cage at the COOP where he worked
as per O.A.S.H.A. mandate.
But as he put the impact wrench on and began
running on the nuts, the vibration/jarring caused
the ring to fly off, KILLING him!
I prefer chains, unless, I can mount the wheel on
truck BACKWARD, ring facing inboard, and then air
up to pressure. This is a safer method. and one a
lot of people use hereaabouts.
