Did you see the documentary on Discovery (or one of those cable
channels) about the guys taking the trek to the South Pole in some
highly-modified 4x4's? They sprayed the tire bead with lighter fluid
and then lit it and the expanding air inside just blew the bead onto the
rim. I wonder if the extreme difference in temperature assisted this
effort. Anyway, it looked neat with flame shooting out everywhere and
the bead seating with a resounding pop!!
