    When I built up several full auto 1919 A4 Brownings ( I'm a Class-II
licensee) I took the whole kit over to my local auto parts store. I had
them put the kits in their hot tank degreaser and they came out perfectly
clean inside and out. I have tried ALL the different ways you can think of
and this is the best way to go. They charged me $5.00 to do them and now
they treat me with great respect! (They call me "that machine gun guy" and
are now happy to look up any parts, filters etc that I need for my MV's)
I've also had several SKS rifles done this way and it really is quick and
clean.

Curtis Wolf in Pennsylvania has the rivets and makes steel dummy
side plates that, if I remember correctly, sell for about $135. There are
thicker than the original to adhere to BATF requirements for dummy
Brownings. NOTE.....The easy way to do this is to send your kit to Curt
and for about an extra $100 (plus the plate cost) he will assemble your gun
on his dummy side plate and send it back to you ready to go.
I have built up several real (full auto) Brownings and can tell you
that this is a real deal. To rivet the parts in place properly you really
need several different shaped "bucks" to go inside the receiver to back up
the rivets. Just building these "bucks" is a real pain as they have to fit
inside the receiver exactly to make sure the rivets are tight.

Curt also has dummy receivers for many other MG's (Vickers, Bren,
Sten, Thompson and others) AND makes reproductions of the pintle socket
(top of the mount) for the jeep pedestal gun mount. This makes it easy for
you to build a mount up yourself and save $$$. He also makes repro jeep gun
mounts if you can't do it your self. If you have a mule, he makes a neat
pedestal mount that fits right into the recoilless rifle mount.

Curtis Wolf's phone number is 717-336-7225 and tell him I sent you
(free beer for me). PLEASE NOTE...Curt is out of the country (probably
dismantling MG's so more kits will come into the country) and will NOT be
back until March 27th.
I'm not affiliated with Curt, he's a friend of mine and a good guy to
deal with.

BTW....If you want to do this the hard way.....I have drawings (prints) for
the side plates available for $5.00.

Basically, it's a non-hardening, high melting point grease.
