This may be the generic ignorant media term for
"composite" armor.

I am aware of the use of certain ceramic and carbon
fibers in conjunction with various resin systems to
create composite armor- usually as an add-on to an MBT
or as a stand alone armor for aircraft (where weight
is a big concern). Composite armor of this type is
very expensive!
