        Normally, if you also require a radio this is true. However, you
can run an intercom system without the 1029 mount. You can run power (24V)
to the J 501 receptacle of the M1780 junction box amplifier , set the
installation switch to "other", set the main power switch to "Int only",
set the power circuit breaker switch to "on" and you will have power
applied to all intercom components.

    If you're using modern radio/intercom components be sure the CVC
helmets have the U-80 (small size) connectors and not the earlier U-77 type
(large size) which are for the older radios (RT-66/67/68)
