Quaker State has always been one of the best lubricants on the market..going
back to the 40's...I remember it being loved by all...
A engine that is run constantly and always warm..will last almost
forever..The engine that has a lot of cold starts and short runs...never
getting hot enough to clear the moisture from the muffler is going to be the
engine that wears the bearings and journals quickly. NYPD vehicles and NYC
taxis that are run day and night for years on end..are sold off to the
public and still have good engines..bodies may not be the best !!
Like Lee said...the engines that are used a lot...and run most all day..will
tend to last a lot longer than the "go to the store" variety of vehicles.
Use a good quality oil like Quaker State..run the vehicle a "lot"..long
trips are best..the average person can not do a metal and acidity test on
their oil..but you can pour your drain oil into a plastic container and drop
a magnet into it...retrieve the magnet and see if there are any particles
clinging to it..will not help for babbit and copper..but will show the iron
and steel..
Rule is...short runs...short oil life...
Long runs...long oil life.. Smooth driving...1SG PANTANO
