Henry,

The Army used what is commonly referred to as a "49 Charlie" (M49C) 2 1/2
ton truck with a tank and pump unit mounted to the frame for fuel and water
transportation. The NSN's for three of the models are as follows:
2320-00-077-1631 (1000 gallon water distributor), 2320-00-077-1631 (1200
gallon fuel truck), 2320-00-077-1632 (1200 gallon fuel truck with winch). I
believe that larger capacity tank trucks were all tractor-trailer units, but
I could be mistaken. The HEMMIT tankers probably have greater liquid
capacity, but you're not likely to find one surplussed yet. Check your local
DRMO for the tank trucks listed above, if they are large enough for your
friend to use.

John

Hi all,
I have a friend in need of a couple of all wheel drive water trucks, at
least 2 thousand gallon with pumps, etc.
Does any one have any near the west coast? If so, please reply off-list with
price and picture or description.
Also, what is the "M" designation for these vehicles?
Thanks in advance,
Henry
