I have been given a chance to provide a ride in the up coming 4th of July
parade to a veteran of the D-day invasion.
He landed in the first wave on Omaha beach, EZ Red sector (although he says
his assigned sector was Dog Red)
I have not talked to him directly yet, but I'm told his unit was:
1st Division, 18th Regiment, 2nd Battalion, Company G.
I'd like to paint my GPW in D-day markings with his unit designation. I
need some help with this. I read the section in All American Wonder on
markings and am still a little confused.
Should the bumper read "1-X-G-pick a vehicle#" (assuming he was in 1st
Infantry Div... or???) Any help would be appreciated.
