    It is true you can dump this way but I think it is actually set up this
way to fold the frame up so the trailer takes up less space for shipping.

    I don't think there is a 'kit' to up grade to surge brakes. The A2 uses a
different axle. If you could mount wheel cylinders in the early drums you
could use a commercial brake actuator but this is probably a lot of work when
you could buy an A2. I used an actuator from Franklin Trailers (800-526-3358)
to convert a M105 to surge brakes. The guy I built the trailer for wanted to
pull it behind a 1 ton civi truck. The big trailers have wheel cylinders
already for the air over hydraulic brakes. A friend of mine just got in a
couple M101A2 trailers. One is $750 and the other is rougher so he'll take
less. Call Fred
