Hi Rob,

Congratulations on your new acquisition! What year is it? If it has the Holley carb on it there should
be an air adjustment needle valve on the base of the carb (on the same side as the valve cover). I
am not familiar with anything but the 1967 as that is what I have. I can highly recommend getting the
complete technical and field manual set for the M-715 series on CD Rom from Military media. Best
$20 I ever spent. You will find a detailed procedure for adjusting the carb in the -34 manual. These
manuals are easy to read and shed lots of light on how the various systems are supposed to function.
First thing I had to do was completely refurbish the fuel system from tank to carb. Memphis Equipment
Co has the kits to rebuild the carb, fuel pump, vacuum pump, and tank sender unit. Not too expensive
either. Best of luck, these are a fine and rugged truck and a lot of fun to drive.

Let us know how it goes,

I just got a M715. The thing smokes terribly, which smells like its burning
way too rich. I've pulled off the air filter housing and cannot find an
adjustment for the carb. Any ideas? Oh yeah, it only has 13K miles on it.
