Michael,

Twin Cadillac V8 engines (with hydromatic transmission) were built into the M5A1
Stuart tank, M-24 Chaffee tank and T-17 Staghound armoured car. It was a
reliable, robust powerpack which was popular with its crews.

Regards your first question, you're right, there's far too much "M-Stuff" in the
world... :-))
