The padding on my m151 has an adhesive backing that sticks directly to the
bar. It is covered with o.d. cloth tape similar to medical tape that is 2
inches wide.
When I got the mutt I removed all of the tape by spraying adhesive remover on
it. The padding underneath was in perfect condition after removing all of
the tape glue. I applied new tape and it was good as new. I was able to
find the o.d. tape at Lowes. a big home supply store.
