Dear Mr. Glance,
Many people, not just MV enthusiasts, read this list. This is probably a
valuable source of open-source intel for some zealot in the BATF's intel
shop to monitor those of us "nuts" who like military vehicles and all
associated things.
Your comments, although no-doubt tongue-in-cheek, if reprinted by someone in
the USG on letterhead referencing it and applying to all of those "nuts"
owning any type of mil veh, or SME, or related equipment, might make someone
not take this in the context you meant it and I would therefore caution you
(and anyone else on this list) so disposed not to make such remarks on this
list but instead, direct them to specific individuals or your own personal
dist list of mil veh enthusiasts if you must make them at all.
It is the innocuous comment that some government weenie or politician (Floyd
Spence, SC with his bill to demil all SME) will take, quote, and put on a
power-point projection to make his case that we should all be demil'd and
lend credence to those in the BATF that persist in the belief that they must
protect us from ourselves instead of the criminals.
Just a thought, not a flame.
