David,
The door mount requires some welding, and some parts which are no longer available. It can be duplicated however. My advice would be to go look and photograph one that is already modified. The hardest parts are the
main mount bracket that gets welded to the doorframe, and installation of the spacers for the bolts. There is also a small bolt-on bracket that reinforces the joint between the dash and doorframe. I have a doormounted truck that is currently apart, and I'll take some close up shots for you if you're serious about doing the mod. The photos in the field modification order are almost worthless as far as fabricating the parts. The swinging mount itself can still be bought, although the door frame latch is getting hard to find. Before you do this mod, practice lifting a wet tire and rim to chest height, and see if you can do it with a smile on your face! LOL! Hope this helps!

<< I have a '65 M37 w/the spare mounted on the rear. I personally like the
looks of the door mount. Has anyone had any experience changing the
location???
