      I would probe the wire with one of the power check
   probe lite to insure I had power to the lite socket.

   If no power then start back checking to find the break
   or short in the wire.

   If you have good power to the socket, check the light
   socket for any rust or corrosion that prevents it from
   grounding properly.. 9 time outa ten thats the more
   common problem..
