Matt

It is at home, I am hopeing that the filter leak is the problem, but with
the kill lever needing to be hand operated it may be deeper.

Rikk,
I'm no crack Diesel mechanic, but my M1009 Blazer has experienced sudden
acceleration (but not over-rev) on two occasions, both caused by air leaks
in
the fuel system. Once I was going 65 on the freeway, suddenly zoomed up to
75, and then limped along to the next exit at 15 mph on the shoulder with
the
pedal floored. A split in the fuel hose just before the mechanical fuel
pump
was the cause.

Another cause on an M35A2 could be a governor problem.

I would suggest having the thing towed home if it's not there already and
working on it in a calmer setting.

Hope this helps,
Matt Tait
