Being the fixer that I am, I just couldn't leave the
in-tank pump alone. I figured I had nothing to loose,
so I pulled it and proceeded to tear it down. Low and
behold, it was only brushes. It's quite a chore to
pull apart and put back together, but I managed to do
it and it seems to run fine. Will put it back in the
tank tommorrow and will let list know how it works. If
it continues to work ok I may start to rebuild them
for others. I figure I should be able to do a simple
rebuild for around 70.00. Much cheaper than a new
one, although Julian's at 165.00 is very reasonable.
