Gas Hummers

Hello list, Perhaps I goofed. It was 5:00 in the morning when I posted
about gas engines. Maybe tonight, I will get in touch with John at AMG and
discuss the gas engines AGAIN! I'm NOT a gas fan by any means, I hate
them! Pretty much everything I own is diesel. That's why I don't pay much
attention to gas engines. AMG did experiment with several gas options and
the production list is few. Arnold Swartznegger owns 3 Humvees and two of
them are gas. (sorry!) What I do know and remember is that gas engines were
NOT well received and are not wanted by serious 4 wheelers on a Hummer.
Besides, AMG is in the 6.5 diesel business now and buying (outside sourcing)
gas engines is not in their plans now. Diesel engines have so many
advantages in this machine and why would anyone want a gas model?
Surburbans and Blazers are available for this! I've been real busy and try
not to get out of touch with the list. For the people who've asked, "Julian
where are you?" I am here. Finding the people to get the answers is a
little difficult sometimes. I still have some other subjects/answers to get
out and will. I always get tired of rumors and of course, the $50 jeep.
Just when I think I have got to the bottom of one, someone asks the same
question again! When I'm out on a quest, I will find out the truth! (Like
the perfect M-1008/9/10 taillight screws that NAPA used to carry and then
deleted them from their line-but I found out where they came from!) Thanks
Jim Allen, you are right. AMG did experiment with the 454 only and I will
find what happened and try to get some production figures.
Your MV nut, Julian Burke
