List,
I thought I had the problem of no spark fixed by installing
a new ignition switch, but the problem reoccurred.
I finally got the M885 running. Replaced coil, magnetic pick up, resistor and
controller and still no spark. Something that didn't show up at first was a
short in some added wiring, probably for a civilian two-way radio. They tapped
into the fuse block, but on the unfused side of the fuse marked radio and this
wire was shorting. I discovered the short while installing a new ignition
switch,
where at this time it developed into a full blown short and the civilian wire
got
hot real quick and melted the insulation off. After I corrected the short by
taking the wires out, the truck fired right up. Apparently, the drain was
enough
to rob the ignition circuit of the electric it needed.
Again, thabks to all that responded to me with info. I've archived the info
in case
I need it sometime in the future.

Ps: This M885 will soon be for sale. We have to service it and give it a
thourough check out. Pics will be added to my web site when it's ready.
