I was just talking with a machinist friend of mine that works at
NAPA......he told me something that raised my eyebrows a bit....
Do you want power brakes in your MB or GPW ?? Listen up..here is what he
does... You get a Chevrolet 1 & 1/2 ton truck master cylinder....and the
10" brakes from a 50's vintage Jeep wagon and the brake wheel cylinders...
The holes through the master cylinder must be re bored to match up to the
regular MB/GPW holes (the two mounting holes)....install all the pieces and
the brake system is like having power brakes. Karl has done this to several
vehicles he has..and after over 7 years of a "daily" driver with his 2 wheel
drive (DJ)Jeep...he has never had a problem.
Now..he wants me to see if anyone has a couple of master cylinders for the
1 & 1/2 ton Chevy Army truck..he wants a good one but will settle for a
couple of junkers that he can sleeve..
Reply to me please at my new address..
