Jonathon,
I have to say I find your question a bit offensive.
The boys in green under those blue hats did not sign on to make political
calls, that's what the boys in Washington are there to do.
And if the commander and chief says go, you go, It does not make any
difference whether you agree, or like the politics.
Service in the UN is service to our country, up to and until the time that
our elected officials say otherwise.
Don't like it? Un-elect em.
And KIA in the UN is the same as KIA in the first fight with the brits, or
the debacle the was the political mission in Vietnam.

The UN has been miss used, and poorly used from the beginning, but that is
not the fault of the guys on the ground.

And yes! ANY vehicle, that is carrying military personnel, that is, or may
be, subject to live fire, is a military vehicle.

Not a flame, just an opinion.

While wearing a blue UN beret ?????????? How can you serve two totally
different entities with totally different and inconsistent missions ??

To keep this "on topic", did you drive an MV's while wearing your blue
beret?
