I am in the middle of rebuilding a KS750.
Yes you can get a BMW R75 or Zundapp KS750 for
$8000 US, but that would get you one that is good for
restoration. A sound restored machine would start at around
$15000 mark.......
DkW's are not that rare, and parts are generally available in Germany.
However, I would suggest that something like a BMW R35 single would
be a good machine to start with. Parts are OK and of course its a 4 stroke.
However, care is needed as the post war East German EMW is sometimes
passed of for the real McCoy (BMW's original factory was in the Eastern zone
after 1945).
