I have a small fuel can (1.5 gal) that has a tray that clamps onto bottom of
the fuel can(for tools, oil, etc.) I don't know or have ever seen a military
use for this can. THIS can came from retail store (Wal-Mart I think). It too
is stamped on the top USMC, just like some 5 gal. GI cans I've seen. So, I'd
be inclined to think that this is a manf. mark.
