Stuart,
It seems that you have a never ending problem with this blazer, I have been
there with 2 Chev vans, the 1st I finally sold for $50.
In the second, I had no other vehicle, and was just a bit POed at Chev, so I
spent have spent more time hunting for the cause.
As it turns out the never ending sometimes intermittent problems were caused
by the wiring harness, it seems at 80k miles they tend to ware out in Chev
vans (yes, I find it strange that the main non-moving part would ware out).
One of the main problems was the connecter thru the fire wall, and the over
heating on other wires when the connecter shorts out.
I have found several burned spots, and several worn spots in the harness on
the van that I have now.

I don't know if it will help but it does give you another place to look, and
your Blazer problems sound strangely familiar.

Subject: [MV] Blazer Glow Plug System

Hi everyone.
Put in new controller card. Glow plug system still not working. BUT when I
jiggle key 1/2 way between off and run the relay clicks and wait light
flickers on. Wait light only dim, but comes on. I now think it may be
ignition switch. Orange and Pink/Blk wires in controller harness 0v in run
position. If this is true, it means the starter, ignition switch and wire
from the engine harness shorting out all happened the same week.
