Stanadyne 80 Fuel Filter in Blazer

Hi all!
Is it possible to rebuild these? Just replace it? Is there a better one
made to replace it with? Is there a GM or Stanadyne number besides 80 to
use to get one wired the same way for water in fuel light?
I am in the process of tracing down a major air leak in the fuel system. I
changed over to an electric fuel pump with new tight rubber from the steel
line to the pump, and pump through new rebuilt injection pump. When I bleed
filter I get major air. Next I will be checking fuel coming out of new
elec. pump for air. If still air in line I plan on cutting fuel line as
close to tank as I can , then using rubber to bypass direct to full pump.
Of course if air disappears when I check at output of fuel pump, I'll be
pretty sure it in the filter assembly. I just gotta get this truck back on
the road. My wife thinks this one is too new. She says with the jeeps, when
you spent money something gets fixed and it runs. With the Blazer you spend
money and nothing gets better. It still just sits in the garage.
