I made it in one piece on my excursion. I drove up to Green Bay...over to
Avon, Ohio..then to PA and NJ...the weather was bad..at times
frightening..but it was all "overcome" due to the Cummins Dodge...!! I saw
many Military vehicles for sale at different places..also the MV Museum on
the way into Wisconsin.. While in Ohio, I received a mail from a guy in
Idaho telling me of a 1942 GPW in the local papers there.. yup - I bought
it, sight unseen.!! Two brothers have had it in a barn for over 20 years..I
already received the title..dated 1971..for a Ford Jeep, 1942.. The little
critter will be delivered to Denver in a week or so.. After I look it over,
and maybe do a few things to it.. They tell me the e-brake handle and the
bumperettes are missing. It runs and drives well with the original Ford
motor.. I'll list it with either G503 or the list.. Anyone interested,
contact me off list and I'll get to you on the exact condition and
numbers..!! DOT..Death On Truckers..they stink..(the DOT) Gene
