The problem with Weasel-type tracks is that the stregth is in steel
conductor cables that are moulded into the rubber bands. Anything that
means those cables are damaged seriously weakens those bands, and is
normally repaired by welding steel chain to the track plates to hold the
plates in the same relative position.

At least in theory you could strip of all the moulded rubber, perform a
crimp type repair on the steel cables and re-mould neoprene of some sort
round them again, but I don't know anyone who has done this successfully.
There are people who will sell you stamped rubber or plastic bands you can
replace the original conductors with, and there's at least one European
setup that can manufacture new Weasel conductor bands at a price.
