I put an actual Bostrom air seat in mine. It came with a spring seat but
the bottom cushion was missing and I didn't like the clearance to the
steering wheel anyway. I went to my friendly neighborhood truck junk yard
(heavy and medium trucks only, no pickups or cars). He had a takeout
Bostrom with the lower back. The color was very similar to what the CUCV
seats are. I looked at the normal high backs and I decided that that was
not going to work in a deuce. This takeout comes up to about the back of
your neck and it still had the plastic on it. He wanted $175, I took it, I
guess they retail for $500 or so. I did make a 2" high base to raise it up
slightly and allow me to mount it using the existing holes on the floor.
The air line went thru another existing hole and I just replaced a
convenient union around the firewall with a T. I'm very pleased, very
comfortable and much better on the butt than a boat cushion on the old seat!

One thing to look into however. Someone told me that the passenger seat
frame is different for the box v.s. spring seat. I don't know, just
something to make sure of.
