WWII Specific MV List

Hi group,

I've been an MV list subscriber for several years now and have watched it's
progression with interest. Not so long ago, the list seemed to be
predominately composed of US manufacture WWII vehicle enthusists and
M-series and non-US manufacture vehicle fans tended to get the cold shoulder
and many folks complained of not feeling like part of the "in" crowd if they
didn't talk about WWII US vehicles and jeeps. Now, M-series vehicle seem to
compose the bulk of the list messages. It is great to see the M-series and
non-US vehicles get the interest and coverage they do, but it appears much
of the WWII vehicle folks have been relegated to lurking or have left the
list.

I am (and know several others who are) primarily interested in WWII vehicles
and equipment, not M-series or any post-war vehicles (although I have owned
several). I have maintained my list membership so I can learn from the
collective knowledge of the list, despite the fact that I am not overly
interested in non-WWII vehicles. I know however, lots of folks aren't
interested in the many daily e-mails they receive and would prefer only a
list with WWII content. I have created such a list. It is the WWII
Military Vehicle List <WWIIMV@yahoogroups.com> for anyone that is
interested.

My point here is not to fracture or splinter the current lists, rather, it
is an attempt to provide a home for the die-hard WWII vehicle enthusist that
has left the other list. I will remain on both lists and I hope I can
entice more WWII specific discussion without alienating the M-series crowd.

Naturally, there are generic questions which are appropriate to both lists,
but I hope to provide a forum for WWII specific discussion without
alienating the post-war crowd as has happened before.
