MV batteries:

  Hi gang:
When I was in the Marines (1974-1978 ), we were constantly
pull-starting & jumping our Deuce's, I don't have a favorable opinion of
military batteries, in fact I consider them the weak link in the truck.
If anything will let you down these will be the first thing to go, (in
my experience ).
That's why ALL my vehicles have OPTIMA batteries in them, I can't say
anything bad about them, ( no, I don't sell them! ). I'm going on seven
years with the same 2 batteries that have been in a M37, M35 deuce, and
now my 5-ton, how long will they last? Probably not a whole lot longer
but if they make it through this Arizona summer they'll be a little over
6 1/2 years old. The best batteries from Sears are lucky to make it
much over 3-3 1/2 years in our heat, so I'm sold on the OPTIMA's.
They're a little more exspensive but really worth it. They aren't
correct for a judgable restoration, but for a "user" they can't be beat.
