I know Guy Fawks is an important English guy. He got his won "day". There
is some other guy named "Boxing" who also got his own day.

And for some reason the French celebrate the Fourth of July on the
fourteenth (they call it Bastogne Day in thanks for the Americans coming and
bailing them out during WW I). The Canadians don't even HAVE the Fourth of
July!! They celebrate it on the First and then jump right over it from the
third to the fifth as a kind of insult to their neighbors to the south.

I learned about all of this from watching Monty Python.
