For Official Use Only

I want to thank everyone who replied.
In my '39 Missouri National Guard Yearbook,
the LARGEST letters anywhere on their vehicles are the F, O, U, and O of
"For Official
Use Only". The capitals are exagerated.
Do you think this was a depression era way of
saying "we don't have no dough so don't fool around with our vehicles?"
VERY nice trucks shown. New looking mid-30's Dodge Brothers (one-ton),
a similar
year Suburban look-alike (can't see hood, fender, just top of body. An
ancient FWD is the
only "pile". I LIKE FWD...
  Thanks, Don Kenyon
