The one problem that could be with the airsoft M-60's is the total absence
of the front mounting point on the handguard, bottom side. This may have
changed by now, but bears checking into first.

I checked eBay but didn't see any barrels for you (they do
occasionally appear there).

Have you considered using an Airsoft gun for your purposes?

Airsoft guns look completely authentic, are reasonably priced, and
shoot 6mm plastic BBs at 350 fps in semi-auto or FULL AUTO and they're
REALLY fun for plinking or simulated combat ops. One of our squad
leaders has an Airsoft M60 on the turret of his military HMMWV.

Here is an Airsoft M60 that sold on eBay for $910:

Here's a link to a good Airsoft gun dealer (I have no affiliation with
the company other than I bought an M4A1 Airsoft gun from them):

but I'm not sure if they carry the M60 or not.

I'm working on a hybrid gun for on top of my M35A2 which is an Airsoft
gun coaxially mounted in the center of a propane/oxygen simulated fire
barrel. I'm not sure what gun the M35A2 originally had (50 caliber?
Anyone?) but I will be using the gun in our simulated combat ops
(www.cimmerians.com). The BBs streaming out of the barrel along with
the deep BLAM BLAM BLAM full auto simulated fire would be perfect.

Good luck, Mark!
