The film company I sub for just purchased all the Soviet-era wardrobe from
the upcoming Sub-Goes-Glug flick "K-19: The Widowmaker", and along with it
came a great tale of woe regarding acquiring/exporting said uniforms from
the former Soviet Union. Seems what was initially such a simple enterprise
became quite the bureaucratic nightmare involving an impossible number of
governmental departments, and my favourite line from the piece goes
something like:

"Finally, we came down to one document requiring five signatures. Little
did we know that each signature represented a whole new round of
negotiations."
