Isopropyl alcohol....also known as isopropanol is ok for cleaning out brake
lines prior to putting in silicone fuid, but you cannot get it at local
drug stores due to the relatively high water content. I used some to flush
the lines on 3 vehicles prior to the change over to silicone HOWEVER I used
high performance liquid chromatography grade...(99.999%)......isopropanol.
I had some from my lab....but you can get it at scientific supply stores.
