Scared but Grateful

My return flight home from Europe was turned around over Greenland on
Tuesday,
and after a stop in Iceland, returned to Europe. When we finally landed in
Sweden,
our plane (full of mostly Americans) was surrounded by heavily armed
soldiers
and the very vehicles we all discuss restoring - Volvo jeeps, Pinzgauers,
etc
were shielding the stairway out of the plane for us.

It may be a while before I will be able to return home to the US and my
family, but I got to say
how good it felt be reminded that those same foreign surplus MVs which we
renew were used and
still are used by our friends in Europe to protect us Americans.

To a person, anyone who can speak English tells me how bad they feel. I
went to the
American Embassy today, and can not express the emotion outside.

p.s. Despite the bigotted and inappropriate comments, this list provides a
welcome link to home
while I am stuck so far away....Thanks. One other comment: If you ever
choose to fly to Europe
after things settle down, go SAS. These people are absolutely wonderful in
a crunch.
